Essential Functions
- Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
- Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
- Affords assistance with self-care activities such as toileting, washing, changing diapers, eating, dressing, grooming, etc.
- Attends job specific trainings.
- Collaborates with supervising instructional staff, professional support personnel to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
- Implements under the supervision of assigned teacher, behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions.
- Maintains instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records.
- Maintains a safe and positive learning environment by monitoring students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments.
- Provides under the supervision of assigned teacher, instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities.
Requirements
- Must be 16+ years old.
- Must have an Associates degree or 60 quarter/48 semester hours, or have passed the para pro praxis test.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Job related experience is desired.
