About the role
The Special Education Para-Educator II position provides support to the instructional program under the direction of an assigned classroom teacher. Key responsibilities include adapting classroom activities, administering first aid, assisting with self-care activities, and providing instruction to students.
Responsibilities
- Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher
- Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance
- Assists students with self-care activities
- Attends job specific trainings
- Collaborates with supervising instructional staff and professional support personnel
- Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team
- Maintains instructional materials and records
- Maintains a safe and positive learning environment
- Provides instruction to students in various individual and group activities
Requirements
- Age 16 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Job-related experience is desired
