About the role

The SPED Paraeducator assists the Instructor in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. They work closely with the staff and administration of the District.

Responsibilities

• Assists in facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students.
• Affirms and responds to the individual needs of students.
• Ensures all activities conform to District guidelines.
• Communicates and works effectively and efficiently with members of the school district and community.
• Reacts to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
• Operates all classroom equipment appropriately as assigned.
• Implements the vision and mission of the District.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 48 college credit hours, obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or passed the Para Praxis Test.
• Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made).
• Knowledge of the operation of various office machines.
• Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
