About the role
This position involves performing blood collection by various methods including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. It also requires a comprehensive understanding of Mobilab.
Responsibilities
- Train and evaluate the competency of Laboratory staff who perform blood collection.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing units regarding Mobilab and blood collection.
- Solve problems related to specimen procurement under the supervision of the Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of laboratory experience in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
- Knowledge of LIS and HIS computer systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Driver's License certification in Phlebotomy by ASCP preferred.
Skills
- Careful attention to detail in specimen collection and labeling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors to optimize workflow.
- Effective inventory management of blood drawing tubes and storeroom items.
- Ability to assist in developing and communicating new policies and procedures.
