Specimen Processing Team Lead - 3rd Shift

Job Responsibilities

Aid in overseeing the operational aspects of the department.

Lead the team through their daily tasks and procedures.

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.

Oversee the distribution of specimens to appropriate preparation areas.

Encourage and implement process improvements and best practices.

Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Resolve production errors as directed by management.

Investigate and resolve production errors, escalating when necessary.

Promote continuous process and service level improvements.

Enforce and manage policies and procedures.

Perform administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a lab, accessioning, data entry, or production role
• Preferred: Associate's degree
• At least 4 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory
• At least 2 years of experience as a people leader

Additional Standards

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational/prioritization skills
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and policies
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay and Benefits

• Pay Range: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
