About the role
The primary purpose of the Inpatient Specimen Collector is to collect venous, arterial and capillary blood specimens for analysis by the laboratory technical staff. To support and assist in obtaining non-blood specimens within scope, ex. Routine sterile and clean catch cup urinalysis, nasal swabs for viral culture, covid, flu, throat swabs for strep or throat culture etc.
Responsibilities
- Collect venous, arterial and capillary blood specimens for analysis by the laboratory technical staff.
- Support and assist in obtaining non-blood specimens such as routine sterile and clean catch cup urinalysis, nasal swabs for viral culture, covid, flu, throat swabs for strep or throat culture.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Qualifications
- Experience in specimen collection preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures helpful.
Skills

Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience.
