Our team of engineers, designers, and fabricators is dedicated to creating innovative, sustainable products that allow people to live, work, and explore closer to nature without harming it. Responsibilities
- Lead fabrication of prototype and production hardware, including electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, metal fabrication, electromechanical assembly, and CNC work.
- Prototype custom parts for modular systems with a focus on strength and efficiency.
- Read, interpret, and write engineering drawings; provide feedback on manufacturability improvements.
- Use construction and mechanical hand/power tools and measurement tools.
- Design and build tools, jigs, and fixtures as needed.
- Maintain shop safety and efficiency, including layout, equipment, and tools.
- Help build Grounded's safety culture, processes, and high-quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience in prototype fabrication and/or shop work (RV, boat, aerospace, cabinet making, plumbing, vehicle electrical, or furniture assembly).
- Experience working from 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work first shift (8-9 AM start, on site in Detroit).
