About the Role

The Registered Nurse serves as the leader of the health care team, providing professional nursing care using the nursing process in line with established standards, policies, and procedures.   • Discusses and completes care plans with patients and families in a timely manner.
  • Monitors patient progress and revises plans based on condition and evaluation.
  • Ensures care meets standards of practice and completes discharge plans, including education and addressing barriers.
  • Ensures patient safety, including medication administration, fall prevention, infection control, and pain management.
  • Addresses patient anxieties, fears, or concerns and ensures understanding of medications and discharge instructions.

  • Charts accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner, reflecting the nursing process.
  • Utilizes computer systems effectively for optimal patient care.

Requirements

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a Critical Care, DOU, or SDU setting, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care, DOU, or SDU course (or approved equivalent) within the prior 12 months.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Arrhythmia course required.

Schedule

Per diem position with the following options:

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
• Backup 8-hour shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

Workdays include Sunday through Saturday.

Pay

Pay range: $69.95 - $95.98 per hour. Kaiser Permanente offers a market-competitive total rewards package, with pay determined by labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate’s relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
