Job Summary

About the Role
Responsible for developing and implementing individualized plans of care, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and holding subordinates accountable for performance.
- Champions new ideas, leads change processes, and collaborates with other departments to resolve problems.
- Mentors and coaches team members, sharing responsibilities and authority.
- Complies with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Monitors patient progress, revises care plans based on patient conditions, and ensures effective discharge planning.
- Ensures patient safety, including medication administration, patient falls, decubitus prevention, and infection control.
- Ensures optimal pain control and patient comfort, addressing patient anxieties and educating them about medications and discharge instructions.
- Communicates comprehensively with physicians and other healthcare team members, discussing patient findings and progress.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and departmental education plans.
- Adheres to workplace safety principles, applies standard precautions, and maintains a safe environment.
- Provides courteous, respectful, and compassionate care to patients and their families, ensuring confidentiality and a positive patient experience.
- Works collaboratively with team members, confronts conflicts constructively, and supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment.
- Organizes work to minimize overtime usage and identifies opportunities for system improvement.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care course within the last 12 months.
- Registered Nurse License (California).
- BLS Certification.

$58.29 - $79.98 / hour
Schedule
24-hour shift, 7:00pm-7:30am, with a back-up 8-hour shift of 11:00pm-7:30am.
