Specialty Underwriter

The Senior Underwriter, Reinsurance, will be part of the Westfield A&H Underwriting team, reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer A&H.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Stop-Loss, Excess Reinsurance, and other specialty products.
• Analyze and manage new and renewal business, contributing to overall strategy and profitability.
• Work directly with brokers to price and design quotes for individual accounts and business produced through MGA/MGUs.
• Manage relationships and profitability of program business written through assigned Managing General Underwriters.
• Propose effective underwriting strategies across various product lines.
• Present new and renewal opportunities to the Peer Review team (Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims).
• Contribute to the development and execution of underwriting strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners (Brokers, TPAs, vendors, etc.).
• Manage specific assigned relationships with brokers and customers, including in-person engagement when needed.
• Participate in new product development as part of the A&H team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 8-10 years of professional experience in the Accident & Health (A&H) business with demonstrated knowledge of Stop Loss and Excess Reinsurance.
• Strong current technical knowledge of Employer Stop Loss.
• Established broker relationships.
• Program management experience.
