Specialty Team Supervisor - OR - GI - South
About the role
Under general supervision and collaboration with the OR Manager, the Registered Nurse plans, organizes, directs, and controls all activities involved in the effective, efficient, and economical utilization of material resources and personnel of the delegated specialty service, ensuring patient service is continuous and high quality.
Responsible for orientation, training, and development of specialty service personnel. Responsible for streamlining the nursing intraoperative process for assigned service line or lines and for streamlining and maintaining preference cards of responsible service line(s).
Relates effectively with perioperative team members for continuity of care; maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units and participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies, procedures, and skills of personnel.
Responsibilities
- Directs and manages the nursing staff in the OR
- Ensures patient care is continuous and of high quality
- Trains and develops specialty service personnel
- Streamlines the nursing intraoperative process for assigned service line or lines
- Maintains preference cards for assigned service line(s)
- Collaborates with the OR Manager
- Works effectively as part of the leadership team
- Manages and directs material resources and personnel
- Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading policies, procedures, and skills of personnel
- Relates effectively with perioperative team members
- Maintains satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum Work Experience: 2 years of OR nursing experience
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse, Certified Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Gastroenterology RN (CGRN), ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire, BLS within 30 days
