About the role

Provides support as a member of the Specialty team to include receiving and preparing product, maintaining the Specialty floor and displays, and selling product in support of the regional Specialty vision.

Responsibilities

  • Surprises and delights customers with consistent and delicious food.
  • Engages in positive and proactive selling.
  • Maintains the freshness and appeal of product displays.
  • Ensures product quality and minimizes waste.
  • Supports the Sampling Program and keeps sample areas stocked and appealing.
  • Maintains back stock in good order.
  • Accesses and communicates market conditions to customers.
  • Completes temperature, sanitation, and sweep logs.
  • Arrives on time, groomed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts.
  • Provides excellent customer service, addressing needs promptly and effectively.
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper preparation, storage, rotation, and merchandising.
  • Fulfills opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
  • Ability to sell proactively.
  • Working understanding of Specialty department and WFM quality goals.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully.
  • To meet customer service expectations and standards.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Passion for natural foods and Whole Foods Market's mission.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.

Pay

$17.50 - $25.40 Hourly, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
