About the Role

Join Amgen’s mission to serve patients living with serious illnesses. As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative, you will be the primary customer contact, implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products in the Manhattan West, NY territory. Relocation is not offered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow in the role.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products and sustain it throughout the sales cycle, keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Specialty Representative:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, or
    • Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience, or
    • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
  • Senior Specialty Representative:
    • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
    • Associate’s degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
    • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Adaptability in core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating internal/external relationships.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is:

  • Specialty Representative: $89,880 – $121,602
  • Senior Specialty Representative: $115,949 – $156,872

Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
