About the role

A Style Consultant at Target delivers an incredible guest experience through strong operations, visual merchandising, and attentive service. The role involves meeting guests where they are, ensuring the sales floor is fully stocked, accurately priced, and visually appealing, and supporting guests in fitting rooms and throughout the store.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and maintain a guest‑ready floor by executing visual standards, inspirational and promotional signage, and staying knowledgeable on assortment and brand offerings.
• Use store tools to understand sales and inventory, and apply that insight to solve and support guest needs.
• Sort truck freight, push freight to the sales floor, and locate merchandise in the backroom based on business needs.
• Set visual presentations and follow visual merchandising guides to enhance guest experience and sales.
• Maintain product availability and a full floor pad by executing priority fills, manual fills, and merchandising to capacity.
• Organize the backroom, locating merchandise to support replenishment, fulfillment, and guest requests.
• Remerchandise presentations as items sell through, using best practices to create an inspiring shopping experience.
• Support price‑change processes by executing clearance merchandising and signing execution.
• Use fitting rooms to welcome, inspire, and assist guests, and ensure merchandise from fitting rooms returns to the sales floor.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; report hazards and follow safety policies.
• Assist with guest services such as backup cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive‑up (DU) while maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
• Greet guests, engage in a welcoming manner, address their needs, and thank them for shopping at Target.
• Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Requirements

• Enjoy interacting with and helping guests and team members.
• Thrive in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment that requires teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Ability to climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, frequently lifting up to 15 lb and occasionally up to 44 lb without assistance.
• Reliability and prompt attendance.
• Capability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive‑Up, carryout areas).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Skills

• Strong interest and knowledge of apparel products and accessories.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Proficiency with multiple‑frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment.
• Effective communication skills, both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to resolve guest questions quickly.
• Capability to stay focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $20.00 USD per hour.
