About the role
Our specialty and mail order pharmacy program is seeking pharmacy technicians to join our dynamic team. These roles offer unique opportunities to leverage existing retail or specialty pharmacy expertise in a high-touch, patient-focused environment. Team members engage in monthly adherence refill calls and referral coordination with both internal and external provider offices.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a support to the pharmacy department in one or more areas such as inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, processing of medications and supplies, specialty medications, and medication histories.
- Assists with medication processing tasks including answering telephones, taking refill orders, entering orders into the system, preparing medications for pharmacist review, and distributing medications for shipment or delivery.
- Handles supplies, stocks prepackaged items, maintains inventory, delivers supplies, and maintains records.
- May assist in bulk compounding and preparation of IV solutions.
- Works collaboratively with pharmacy staff to minimize medication errors and apply sound judgment to anticipate and resolve issues.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to work without a criminal history related to drug handling.
- Strong mathematical calculation skills.
- Working knowledge and skills as a pharmacy technician in assigned areas, able to work within established procedures under moderate supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in typing and using Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification required unless enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
