About the Role

Join Amgen's mission to serve patients by becoming a Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative in the Cardiovascular field. Covering territories including Corpus Christi, Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville, and Edinburg, this role does not offer relocation. As a key connection to our customers, you will provide clinical knowledge of Amgen's products to medical professionals and assist in navigating the complex payer environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products, effectively communicating clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, and scheduling/following up on medical educational programs.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions and interactions based on customer needs.
  • Ensure product access, resolve or triage reimbursement issues, and maintain product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn and grow.
  • Demonstrate and sustain passion for Amgen's products throughout the sales cycle, keeping patient impact at the forefront.
  • Uphold Amgen's values, including being science-based, competing intensely, creating value, acting ethically, fostering trust, ensuring quality, and collaborating.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications - Specialty Representative:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR
  • Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience

Basic Qualifications - Senior Specialty Representative:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field OR
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in specialties such as oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing, Leveraging Business/Industry/Technical Knowledge, Communicating with Impact, Driving for Results, and Cultivating Internal/External Relationships.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
