Specialty Representative/Sr Specialty Representative - Cardiovascular Gary, IN

As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative, you will connect with medical professionals, share clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products, and help navigate the payer environment to drive appropriate product utilization. This role supports Amgen’s focus on four therapeutic areas—Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease—and contributes to delivering innovative medicines that help people live longer, fuller lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate their benefits to healthcare professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
- Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales targets by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and engaging with customers both in-person and virtually.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by customizing discussions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
- Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products and sustain that passion throughout the sales cycle, consistently building the brand while keeping patient impact at the forefront.

Requirements
Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s Degree
- OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of Sales experience
- OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
Senior Specialty Representative
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
- OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
- OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry
- Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases; and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties
- Local market knowledge
- Established relationships in the territory
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration
- Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships
Pay
The expected annual salary range for Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $89,816 to $121,602. The expected annual salary range for Senior Specialty Representative in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $109,631 to $148,325. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
