Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI at our Integrated Service Center facility. This job is hybrid.

About the Role

The Specialty Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for completing necessary functions to ensure optimal reimbursement for high-cost medications and overseeing the medication use process for medications administered in designated ambulatory areas, which may include, but are not limited to, the infusion clinic and clinical cancer center. The pharmacist will work with referring clinics to verify and document the patient's enrollment in a patient assistance program and obtain medication for the patient's treatment from the program if stock is not present. The role ensures patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's quality improvement plan and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards for pharmaceutical services. This position reports directly to an Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimal reimbursement for high-cost medications.
• Oversee the medication use process in designated ambulatory areas (e.g., infusion clinic, clinical cancer center).
• Verify and document patient enrollment in patient assistance programs.
• Work with clinic representatives to obtain medications from patient assistance programs when stock is unavailable.
• Maintain compliance with the department's quality improvement plan and TJC standards for pharmaceutical services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Pharm. D. degree from an ACPE-certified school of pharmacy (required).
• Active Wisconsin pharmacist license (or eligibility) (required).
• Minimum of one year of hospital or three years of other pharmacy experience (preferred).
• Successful completion of ASHP Pharmacy Practice or specialty residency (preferred).
• Active membership in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) (preferred).
• Active membership in ASHP and/or other national pharmacy organizations (preferred).

Schedule

• Full-time (1.0 FTE), standard 40-hour workweek.
• 8-hour shifts between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
• No weekends or holidays.
