About the role
The Specialty Pharmacist Navigator builds relationships with physicians and practices to support the prescribing, training, and patient assistance for specialty pharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with physician practices to demonstrate pharmacy partnership value.
- Facilitate prescription processing, including insurance adjudication, prior authorizations, and managing denials.
- Coordinate patient profiles, medication sourcing, and delivery logistics.
- Act as a financial advocate for patients, leveraging assistance programs to maximize access.
- Follow up on refills, address clinical questions, and document in medical records.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with physician offices through visits and meetings.
- Assist with program reporting, data collection, and cross-training in ambulatory pharmacy.
- Provide leadership by coaching staff, overseeing onboarding, and supporting team development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Unrestricted pharmacist license; PharmD preferred.
- 5+ years in community, retail, ambulatory, or health-system pharmacy; specialty pharmacy experience desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, pharmacy systems, and insurance processes.
- Ability to handle complex medical conditions, interpret clinical data, and work with medical records.
