About the role
Are you a finance professional with strong reinsurance expertise and a passion for solving complex business challenges? We are seeking an Associate Manager, Specialty Operations Finance Reinsurance to join our team and play a critical role in supporting financial reporting, forecasting, governance, and strategic decision-making for a dynamic and evolving business.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex financial analyses and deliver insights that support business performance and strategic decisions.
- Prepare and support Statutory and GAAP financial reporting requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow models.
- Support internal and external audits, including interactions with Deloitte and regulatory agencies.
- Cook up governance and control activities, including SOX self-assessments, segregation of duties reviews, and approval authorization processes.
- Partner with leadership to understand business trends, identify risks, and recommend solutions.
- Support claim reserve analyses and discontinued lines of business IBNR studies.
- Drive process improvements and help enhance the effectiveness of financial operations.
- Coach and mentor analysts while serving as a trusted resource across the team.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance accounting and finance.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex data analysis, and Macros (preferred level of proficiency).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 5+ years of relevant finance, accounting, or reinsurance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership or people management experience.
- Internal candidate experience or familiarity with the organization.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered tools, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and process improvement or transformation initiatives.
Benefits
Compensation offered for this role is $98,100.00 - $167,850.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications. The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
