Specialty Nurse - RN - Ankeny OB/GYN Clinic

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming patient phone calls to determine the urgency of symptoms and appropriate next steps.
• Provide telephone triage and guide patients to the appropriate level of care, including prenatal visits, urgent evaluation, or emergency services.
• Auxiliary in coordinating urgent and routine care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs.
• Communicate effectively with OB/GYN providers and clinical team members to ensure timely, safe, and coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on pregnancy, postpartum care, reproductive health, preventive screenings, and treatment plans.
• Offer ongoing emotional support and resources tailored to each patient’s stage of care.
• Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Maintain oversight of patient progress, lab results, and imaging, and coordinate follow-up care to ensure continuity and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
• Experience: All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in neurology or specialty care is a plus, but not required.
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
