About the role
Join us as a board certified or residency trained Specialty Medical Director at VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. You’ll be empowered to do your best work with a team you can count on.

- Specialty services include Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, Neurology, Medical & Radiation Oncology, and Emergency/Critical Care
- 15 exam rooms, 6 surgical suites, ER surgical room, 64-slice Toshiba CT with automatic injector, 1.5 Tesla MRI, linear accelerator
- Endoscopic, laparoscopic and thorascopic instrumentation, multiple ultrasounds including a color flow Doppler, O2 cages, two digital radiology suites and a C-arm
- Complete in-house lab, Abaxis CBC, PT/PTT, chemistry machines, Heska EPOC, I-stat and colloid osmometer
- Strong rotating internship program with daily rounds, teaching environment
- Hiking, mountain biking, water sports, skiing, wine tasting, and camping
- Access to a network of specialists within VCA
Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Florida, or the ability to obtain
- Residency Trained or Diplomate Board Certification
- A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
