About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Lakewake, CO. This is a casual/per diem position with hours assigned as needed. Start and end times vary, including Monday–Friday (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) and weekends (7:00 AM–3:30 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or perform data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

  • Current or prior Labcorp experience (preferred)
  • 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic, or hospital (preferred)
  • 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment (preferred)
  • 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory (preferred)
