Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry

About the role

NHS Tayside is recruiting a Specialty Grade psychiatrist for the General Adult Psychiatry service in Perth and Kinross. The post is a 1‑year fixed‑term position based primarily at Cairnwell, Perth Royal Infirmary within the Perth City Community Mental Health Team, with opportunities to work in other CMHTs across Perth and Kinross. You will work alongside and under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, contributing to ongoing service improvement and the development of modernised models of care for the Tayside population.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessment, treatment and care within the General Adult Psychiatry service.
• Work primarily at Cairnwell, Perth Royal Infirmary (Perth City CMHT) with options to undertake sessions in other CMHTs across Perth and Kinross.
• Collaborate with and receive supervision from the Consultant Psychiatrist leading the team.
• Participate in service improvement initiatives and help develop new models of care.
• Support the development and career pathways of the medical workforce within NHS Tayside.

Requirements

• Full GMC registration and a licence to practise.
• Previous experience working in general adult psychiatry is expected.
