Specialty Coordinator / Zamboni Driver - Sports Arena

Representative Job Duties

• Drive Zamboni to resurface Ice.
• Preform ice maintenance using Zamboni, edger, and other tools as required.
• Preform basic Zamboni maintenance to include but not limited to checking tire air pressure, changing the blade, and checking fluid levels.
• Responsible for the safe operation of the Sports Arena in the absence of the Facility Supervisor.
• Supervise 1-5 other part time employees during your shift.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the facility at all times.
• Answer customer questions and provide assistance and information in a professional manner.
• Positively promote the service philosophy of the City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department.
• Handle complaints politely; refer to Facility Supervisor.
• Handle and count cash accurately; operate a Point of Sale; handle credit card transactions.
• Keep accurate and easily accessible records of all work to ensure organizational continuity.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age with a certain level of maturity to handle this high-profile position.
• Valid Michigan Drivers Licenses.
• Excellent organization along with verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use logical and rational thinking to solve problems.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions independently.
• Some managerial or leadership experience preferred.
• Be a keyholder to the facility.
