Specialty Coder II (REMOTE)

Summary: Assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems with advanced accuracy and efficiency. Audits physician documentation and serves as a resource for the department. Provides mentorship and training to Specialty Coder I team members and clinical coding students. Contributes to coding quality and departmental development. Minimum Qualifications: Other information: Required experience: 2 years of coding and 1 year of medical office related experience Required credentials: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist -- Physician Based (CCS-P) Education: Essential: HS Graduate or Equivalent GED Nonessential: Associates Degree Essential: Education equivalent experience: Required High School or Equivalent; Preferred Associates Nonessential: Preferred Associates Credentials: Essential: Certified Professional Coder Required Credential equivalent experience: CPC (Coding) Facility: BayCare Health System, Health Info Management Coding-BMGS Location: Concourse Ctr Status: Full Time, Exempt: No Shift Hours: 8-4:30pm Shift: Shift 1 Shift 1 = Days, 2 = Evenings, 3 = Nights, 4 = Varies Weekend Work: None On Call: No How often will this team member be working remotely?
