Specialty Beauty Advisor - Clinique

General Summary & Scope

The Specialty Beauty Advisor – Clinique (SBA – Clinique) is responsible for maximizing sales in the Clinique brand (including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging guests to determine their individual needs, assisting guests in the selection and purchase of merchandise, and maintaining overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment. The role represents the image, products, and culture of Ulta Beauty and the Clinique brand, supporting the Experience Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Clinique brand sales and clientele goals and contribute to overall store targets for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel performance, and shrink.
• Greet and engage every guest, personalize service, offer samples, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations; book appointments and support in‑store events that drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, maintain an active preferred‑customer list, and follow up on guest inquiries.
• Inform guests of current promotions, events, and services.
• Stay informed about new and existing products, ingredients, and benefits to better serve guests.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment, share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, and maintain strong relationships with Clinique brand partners through training and event execution.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business and participate in ongoing brand and category education.
• Adhere to Ulta Beauty and Clinique policies, procedures, dress code, and brand standards.
• Keep the assigned work area replenished, signed, faced, and ensure testers are available and hygienic.
• Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the Clinique area and other assigned zones (sales floor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, break area).
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and shipment processing for the Clinique brand.
• Follow loss‑prevention best practices and provide exceptional guest service.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law.
• Cosmetics artistry experience preferred.

Schedule

Flexible schedule required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $28.00 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law.
