About the Role

The Specialty Asset Manager I manages and maintains, under limited direction, a substantial and complex portfolio within a given segment of non-financial assets, such as closely-held businesses, life insurance, tangible assets, notes, and mortgages. This role works independently or partners with Account Officers, Portfolio Managers, and external professionals to provide comprehensive solutions to complex customer needs throughout the United States. This position may manage unique assets for any of BOKF’s private wealth accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a substantial and complex portfolio of non-financial assets (e.g., life insurance, minerals, notes and mortgages, real estate, and closely-held businesses).
  • Collaborate with Account Officers, Portfolio Managers, and external professionals to deliver solutions for complex customer needs.
  • Work with subject matter experts on assigned assets during the administration of estates, trusts, and agency accounts.
  • Maintain client relationships and assigned accounts.
  • Resolve asset-related issues to ensure quality service for clients.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant oversight of client and account activities related to assigned assets by:
    • Analyzing and reviewing all assigned assets annually for compliance with bank policies and procedures.
    • Adhering to Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (O.C.C.) requirements.
    • Aligning with the account’s investment objectives and directions provided in governing documents.
  • Coordinate asset investment and management activities with clients and internal/external professionals.
  • Provide expertise in buy, sell, and retain decisions for assigned assets.
  • Analyze, inspect, value, and determine the highest and best use of assets to maximize investment performance and manage risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3–5 years of related experience, or 7–8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of contracts, leases, and title documents.
  • Basic knowledge of asset management functions for a specific segment of specialty assets (e.g., closely-held businesses, life insurance, tangible assets, notes, and mortgages).
  • Basic knowledge of fiduciary practices and responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of laws applicable to specialty assets (e.g., oil and gas law, real estate law, consumer lending, life insurance regulations, or business law).
  • Demonstrated PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations.

Working Conditions

Office environment with minimal physical demands (up to 20 lbs).
