Specialty Area School _ Paraprofessional, Special Education (Eagle Woods Academy) 2026-2027

Essential Job Duties

• Affords assistance to students with physical needs such as feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Supports students with health care procedures like hygiene and medication administration.
• Delivers small group and/or individualized instruction aligned with lesson plans.
• Maintains supervision of students both before and after school, as well as during other transitional times.
• Collaborates with teachers to manage classroom environments that support effective learning.
• Participates in the assessment of student performance and other administrative tasks.
• Assists in the preparation and availability of instructional materials for students.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and successful completion of the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of at least sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college coursework with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university.
• Obtaining a valid Professional Standards Commission-approved paraprofessional certificate.

The salary grade/schedule is Unified 108, with applicable salary schedules available here.
