About the role

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive health and prescription insurance coverage to eligible employees, along with various other benefits such as life insurance, optional insurances, flexible spending accounts, paid personal leave, military leave, holidays, retirement programs, deferred compensation, state credit union, tuition reimbursement, career development and training, and promotional opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the state's health and prescription insurance program.
  • Oversee the wellness and health promotion program.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding life insurance, optional insurances, flexible spending accounts, paid personal leave, military leave, holidays, retirement programs, deferred compensation, state credit union, tuition reimbursement, career development and training, and promotional opportunities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding health and prescription insurance, life insurance, optional insurances, flexible spending accounts, paid personal leave, military leave, holidays, retirement programs, deferred compensation, state credit union, tuition reimbursement, career development and training, and promotional opportunities.
  • Ability to manage and administer the state's health and prescription insurance program.
  • Experience in managing and administering similar programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in state government employment.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
