Specialized Paraprofessional @ T2Success Program (1.0 FTE)

About the role

The specialized paraprofessional position is designed to assist in the delivery of educational services to youth identified as students with special needs ages 18-22. Assistance will be provided on an individualized or small group basis under the direction of a special education licensed teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of educational services to youth identified as students with special needs ages 18-22.
• Provide assistance on an individualized or small group basis under the direction of a special education licensed teacher.
• Record and summarize data in written form for educational staffings.
• Support the transition to adulthood for students through collaborative partnerships with parents, students, and community agencies.
• Foster a collaborative environment that promotes independence in all areas of students' lives.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Able to record and summarize data in written form for educational staffings.
• Prior experience with secondary students with special needs is preferred.
• No prior medical condition which would impair the delivery of services based on the student's IEP.

• Passionate about supporting young adults with disabilities.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and community partners.
• Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
• Proficient in using technology to support student learning.
