Specialized Paraprofessional (1.0 FTE)

About the role

The specialized paraprofessional position is designed to assist in the delivery of educational services to youth identified as students with special needs ages 6-18. Assistance will be provided on an individualized or small group basis under the direction of a special education licensed teacher.

Responsibilities

• Absorb and summarize data in written form for educational staffings.
• Provide assistance to secondary students with special needs.
• Ensure compliance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience with secondary students with special needs.
• No prior medical condition that would impair service delivery based on the student's IEP.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of special education principles and practices.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
