Responsibilities
The Specialized Nursing Technician works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). The Specialized Nursing Technician performs assigned patient care tasks and other related unit duties, defined, and delegated under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Other responsibilities include performing clerical, receptionist, communication and patient care duties (when appropriate) as directed.
- Maintains the patient record “paper” chart as a medical-legal document, on the inpatient unit, according to Medical Center policy and procedures.
- Assists in organizing and communicating inter and intra-departmentally to achieve optimum patient care.
- Maintains an orderly and equipped Nursing Unit.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience.
- Minimum Experience: 1 year of prior acute care experience preferred or CNA or completion of first clinical course in RN program.
- Required Certification/Registration: Current and ongoing BLS. CNA certificate preferred if experience is minimal. Internal Crisis Intervention training required.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily walking and standing. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patient. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Ability to pass pre-hire physical assessment.
Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
Pay
The range for the role is $24.26-$24.99 hourly. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
