Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) to perform assigned patient care tasks and other related unit duties as delegated.
  • Perform clerical, receptionist, communication, and patient care duties as directed.
  • Maintain the patient record (“paper” chart) as a medical-legal document on the inpatient unit, following Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Assist in organizing and communicating inter- and intra-departmentally to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain an orderly and equipped Nursing Unit.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience.
  • Minimum Experience: Computer proficiency preferred. 1 year of prior acute care experience preferred or CNA certification, or completion of the first clinical course in an RN program.
  • Required Certification/Registration: Current and ongoing BLS (Basic Life Support). CNA certificate preferred if experience is minimal. Internal Crisis Intervention training required.

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Physical Demands: Work involves prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients. Must pass a pre-hire physical assessment.
  • Environmental Conditions: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
  • Functional Abilities: Full anatomical range of motion to perform tasks. Visual and aural acuity, finger and hand dexterity to operate computers and office equipment. Ability to withstand long periods of sitting, standing, or constant walking. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task and maintain detailed attention in an environment with interruptions. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
  • Schedule: May be subject to irregular hours, including evenings or potentially weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $24.26–$24.99 hourly. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Several factors may be considered when determining compensation, including location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
