Specialist, Test Automation Developer (Ruby)
Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test cases aligned with Agile and Scrum practices. You will collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and fellow testers to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and validate functionality based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
You will perform functional, integration, regression, backend data validation, and performance testing activities to ensure product quality and stability. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining automated test scripts, analyzing test results, documenting defects, and supporting defect resolution efforts through collaboration with development teams.
The role requires active participation in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives. You will contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes, automation coverage, and overall quality practices. Effective communication and collaboration across teams and time zones are essential.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of software testing principles and Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Spira).
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Ruby and/or Tosca.
- Understanding of API, UI, integration, and backend data testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing best practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and Personal Lines insurance products is preferred.
