Specialist - Technical Representative, Michigan OR Ohio
About the Role
As the Specialist - Technical Representative, you will brainstorm, plan, and execute regional product education and experiential activations to deliver consistent retail support and build local brand affinity within communities. You will serve as the go-to product expert for store staff within your territory, connecting daily efforts to our mission of igniting the human spirit through movement.
This role is travel-intensive (up to 60%) and includes a company vehicle as a perk. Two positions are open: one covering Michigan and Indiana, and one covering Ohio. Ideal candidates will live within about an hour's drive from Columbus, Cleveland, Lansing, or Detroit.
Responsibilities
- Product Education: Conduct high-impact product knowledge clinics to articulate technical features and performance benefits of footwear and apparel collections, elevating retail staff expertise.
- Retail Activations: Support retail partner activations through product demos, community test-runs, and brand trial experiences.
- Territory Management: Plan and schedule systematic store visits to maintain consistent communication and support with retail store managers.
- Event Logistics: Coordinate local event logistics for regional product launches, ensuring alignment with marketing calendars to drive retail excitement.
- Event Execution: Manage brand presence at local corporate health expos, fitness trade shows, and community events, including setup, teardown, and consumer engagement.
- Grassroots Advocacy: Identify and cultivate relationships with local running clubs and fitness communities to amplify brand visibility.
- Visual Merchandising: Implement and audit in-store visual merchandising standards, correcting product displays for premium brand consistency.
- Inventory Liaison: Monitor territory stock levels during visits and communicate inventory gaps to Sales Representatives to facilitate orders.
- Market Insights: Gather localized store-level feedback, competitor observations, and staff insights to share with the team.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience as a technical representative, sales representative, or in retail sales for an outdoor or run specialty brand.
- Foundational understanding—or strong aptitude to learn—technical aspects of human physiology and product engineering in the running space.
- Comfort and engaging energy when presenting educational information to retailers, customers, and industry professionals.
- Ability to manage personal travel schedules, account visit expenses, and basic office productivity tools.
- Willingness to navigate a travel-intensive schedule (up to 60%) and live within commutable proximity to Columbus, Cleveland, Lansing, or Detroit.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
