About the Role

As a Supplier Quality and Standard Specialist, you will ensure that approved suppliers, materials, specifications, and testing requirements meet regulatory requirements, company quality standards, and product quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Manage supplier qualification and approval programs, including supplier onboarding, risk assessment, supplier questionnaire evaluation, on-site supplier audits, and review of supplier qualification documents (e.g., certifications, regulatory statements, specifications, and other required records).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for overseas suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, investigate supplier-related quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage supplier communications regarding material quality issues, nonconforming materials, supplier change notifications, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Review and approve raw material, packaging material, and finished product specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assess the quality and regulatory impact of new raw materials and package materials, supplier changes, formulation changes, and specification revisions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards related to supplier quality and material specifications.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and operate in a safe manner.
  • Perform other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Science or related field with at least 5 years of experience in the nutritional and/or related industry in a quality management role, or an advanced degree with +2 years of experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, regulatory requirements, and supplier certifications to support quality and compliance decisions.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
