Specialist Series (Junior, Assistant, Associate, and/or Full)

About the role

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery is currently accepting applications for Specialists to provide research support during the academic year. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.

Pay

Salary range: $57,000–$201,700 per year for exempt positions; hourly rate: $27.30–$96.60 for non-exempt positions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience
• Strong interest in clinical medicine and familiarity with basic research methods
• Experience with audiovisual technology and social media is preferred, but not required

Qualifications

• Junior Specialists: Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience.
• Assistant Specialists: Master’s degree (or equivalent degree), or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
• Associate Specialists: Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Normally expected to have a record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
• Full Specialists: Terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization. Normally expected to have a significant record of academic accomplishments, including contributions to published or in-press research in the field, professional recognition in the field, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
