Specialist – Security/Cyber Threats/Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Security/Cyber Threat Specialist to monitor, identify, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents. The role will help protect the organization's systems, networks, applications, and data from cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, events, and potential cyber threats.
• Identify and investigate suspicious activities, vulnerabilities, and security incidents.
• Support incident detection, response, containment, and recovery.
• Analyze security logs and alerts from SIEM, EDR, firewall, and other security tools.
• Perform basic threat intelligence and research on emerging cyber threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
• Assist with security monitoring, endpoint protection, and network security.
• Investigate phishing, malware, unauthorized access, and other security incidents.
• Maintain security incident records, reports, and documentation.
• Support security audits, compliance requirements, and internal security assessments.
• Work with IT and infrastructure teams to implement security controls and recommendations.
• Stay updated on current cyber threats, attack techniques, and security best practices.

Requirements

• Good understanding of network security, operating systems, and cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and security monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of common cyber threats such as malware, phishing, ransomware, and credential attacks.
• Basic understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, threat intelligence, and incident response.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
• Good analytical, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
