The purpose of this full-time role is to support QBE Re North America's Treaty Underwriting operations by providing critical operational, administrative, and technical support across the underwriting lifecycle.

About the role

This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining underwriting documentation, client and broker records, and treaty data, while processing submissions, renewals, and other underwriting transactions in a timely and accurate manner. A key component includes significant data entry, data validation, reporting, and data manipulation activities to ensure the integrity and quality of underwriting information used for portfolio management and business decision-making.

The role partners closely with underwriters and operational stakeholders to enhance workflows, support business initiatives and projects, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the achievement of profitable growth objectives across the North America treaty portfolio.

Location: Midtown, NY. Work arrangement: hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the execution of timely and efficient operational underwriting activities by aligning decisions with established guidelines.
  • Support streamlined underwriting operations by processing, documenting, and organizing policies to support business strategy.
  • Leverage underwriting data and accurately reflect it in the pricing model.
  • Maintain key reporting and tracking databases by following up on loss-sensitive documents and monitoring collateral.
  • Manage underwriting client files by updating records to reflect the current state.
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers by researching inquiries and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Participate in operational projects to review and design new process modules and evaluate market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders by recommending solutions to underwriting issues.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others.

Requirements

  • Moderate relevant experience required.
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in operational underwriting.

Pay

The starting salary for this role is between $75,000.00 and $113,000.00. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience.

Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
