The Basics

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or closely related field or equivalent work experience
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigation experience
  • Data management: extracting, sorting, manipulating, and presenting data for various audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and SAP
  • Experience with Outside Processor management and collaboration
  • Knowledge of hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated steel manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on experience with material claims processes
  • Familiarity with recoil, slitting, and blanking operations
  • Strong safety orientation
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, with practical application in automotive manufacturing environments

  • Knowledge of barge, rail, and trucking logistics for rolled steel products
  • Detailed knowledge of Outside Processors in the United States, Canada, and Mexico
  • Knowledge of part template/order creation processes
  • Quality Assurance background
  • Experience in Technical Service role

  • Internal Auditor experience

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage Corrective Actions for Outside Processor quality, delivery, and OEM quality performance
  • Ensure documentation meets customer requirements for content and timeliness, satisfying quality audit expectations
  • Ensure best practices are shared across the Calvert outside processing network
  • Monitor product flow in Outside Processor inventories to achieve on-time delivery metrics
  • Issue periodic reports detailing quality performance of the mill and processors
  • Evaluate monthly performance of Outside Processors and distribute scorecards
  • Assisting External Logistics Procurement in Outside Processor management
  • Participate in processor visits or review meetings to assess and communicate performance
  • Provide technical expertise and sourcing support to achieve cost-efficient, quality-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with Technical Service and Mill Quality on reprocessing and product disposition of non-conforming material
  • Work with Commercial, Technical Order, and Technical Service Teams to create part templates
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure proper electronic data transfer and troubleshoot issues
  • Work with Mill Quality to manage coil referrals
  • This position may require travel upon short notice to support quality containment initiatives at Outside Processors or OEM locations

Your Work Environment

  • Office and industrial setting
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL with some travel within USA and to Mexico & Canada
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required during peak workloads
