About the role
L3Harris is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet all corporate, regulatory, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain and improve our Quality Management System, ensuring compliance across programs and safeguarding customer expectations.
- Drive and support continual improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, Zero Defect planning, 8D problem solving, lean methodologies, and Six Sigma practices.
- Partner closely with software, systems, hardware and aeronautical engineering teams to ensure consistent application of quality processes, standards, and operating practices.
- Use investigative and problem-solving tools, techniques and methods to identify corrective and preventive action opportunities and drive continual improvement.
- Perform quality audits and assessments to assure compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements in support of CMMI, AS9100 and the Quality Management System.
- Attend Agile team meetings and observe Agile practices to ensure compliance with defined company processes and industry practices.
- Witness product verification and validation procedures including systems, software and aeronautical engineering per documented test procedures and criteria.
- Analyze KPI trends and guide engineering teams in corrective negative performance patterns.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years prior related experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance / quality control concepts, tools and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001:2015 Process improvement skills such as 8D, Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt, Kaizen, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Effectively able to communicate with internal and external customers at various levels.
- Agile, SAFe and Lean Agile process experience.
- Experience in Engineering, or aviation.
- Knowledge in PowerBI.
