Key Responsibilities
- Congduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with symptoms of respiratory and lung diseases.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs), chest X-rays, CT scans, bronchoscopy, and other imaging modalities to diagnose conditions such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer, and interstitial lung disease.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
- Prescribe and manage medications, including inhalers, bronchodilators, and corticosteroids, as well as recommend lifestyle modifications to improve respiratory health.
- Perform or supervise procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and pleural biopsies as required.
- Provide ongoing care and monitoring for patients with chronic pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary fibrosis.
- Monitor the effectiveness of treatments and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including thoracic surgeons, radiologists, nurses, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and patient care conferences to determine the best course of treatment for complex cases.
