Job Responsibilities

  • Represent Medical Affairs on Core Teams and Product Development Teams for new product development and sustaining activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for Medical Affairs within the core team
  • Coordinate and communicate input from Medical Affairs team members to support aligned cross-functional decision-making
  • Communicate Medical Affairs perspectives, inputs, and considerations to cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial)
  • Facilitate communication between the core team and the broader Medical Affairs organization
  • Provide clinical and laboratory workflow perspective to support cross-functional discussions and product development activities
  • Support cross-functional teams in incorporating real-world clinical practice and end-user considerations into decisions
  • Provide input into product design, usability, and labeling clarity based on clinical and laboratory knowledge
  • Review and summarize scientific and clinical literature to support internal discussions and team alignment
  • Create coherent, professional documentation and correspondence of moderate complexity inclusive of the development of internal scientific materials (e.g., training content, background summaries)
  • Is able to draw conclusions from primary and other written and/or verbal sources, present, and / or act on them effectively
  • Is effective when speaking among peers, team members and functional or Business Management
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork by fostering collaboration, supporting shared objectives, and contributing to effective team dynamics
  • Recognizes potential problems and takes preventative steps; including recommending solutions for complicated issues
  • May lead an ad-hoc team to resolve issues
  • Estimates resources required and works with Manager to ensure availability of required supplies and/or resources for individual and/or group activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Microbiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences field
  • Clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or diagnostic setting preferred
  • Laboratory certification such as MLS or MT preferred
  • Exposure to Medical Affairs, product development, or cross-functional team environments preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory, life sciences, or diagnostics environment
  • Experience working in or supporting cross-functional teams is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of microbiology and clinical laboratory practices
  • Understanding of clinical laboratory workflows and real-world diagnostic use
  • Ability to interpret and summarize scientific and clinical information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clinical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional team environments
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in scientific content
  • Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
