About the role

The candidate for this position will be responsible for developing electronics packaging designs for ruggedized ground and airborne military systems. The candidate will execute assignments independently under moderate supervision as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering design team.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed mechanical design and analysis of electronic systems, boxes, and modules
  • Extensive use of mechanical CAD modeling tools
  • Specification, model, and drawing generation per ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5
  • Collaboration with multifunctional teams encompassing engineering, procurement, and operations
  • Mechanical and environmental testing and mechanical troubleshooting of electronics systems
  • Travel (domestic and foreign) may be required 2-5% in a year

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance is required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Broad understanding of basic mechanical design and analysis practices
  • Hands-on hardware or laboratory experience with electronic assemblies and systems
  • Experience and interest in the analysis, simulation, and testing of thermal and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with Windchill, Creo, and military design and environmental test standards
  • Secret clearance is preferred but not required to start

Pay

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $88,500 - $164,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
