Responsibilities
- Perform alignment of rotating equipment either with dial indicators or laser equipment.
- Check pipe strain on equipment and instruct maintenance staff or contractors in regards to correcting issues found.
- Troubleshoot pump mechanical seal; reciprocating gas compressor; natural gas engine performance; and centrifugal pump vibrations and performance issues.
- Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot rotating equipment including natural gas and diesel reciprocating engines; natural gas and steam turbines; centrifugal, reciprocating & axial flow compressors and pumps; blowers; fans; expanders; electric motors; and generators.
- Shop inspections on mechanical equipment being repaired and detail the scope of work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Mechanical/Machinist Degree and/or Technical School Certifications or at least 15 years Mechanical experience.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong commitment to personal and job safety.
- Able to provide understandable and legible reports in a timely manner.
- Experience performing alignment of rotating equipment either with dial indicators or laser equipment.
- Experience checking pipe strain on equipment and instruct maintenance staff or contractors in regards to correcting issues found.
- Experience troubleshooting pump mechanical seal; reciprocating gas compressor; natural gas engine performance; and centrifugal pump vibrations and performance issues.
- Proven knowledge in NGL fractionation, natural gas production & processing, NGL and natural gas storage and pipeline systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Able to read and understand, analyze, and interpret documents; equipment repair manuals, reports and federal; state and local codes and regulations.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
- Basic computer skills such as opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with management, other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner.
- The ability to modify communication style in order to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance.
- Able to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
- Able to work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
- Able to climb and work at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position.
- Able to react to visual, aural and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
- Able to work in confined spaces (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
- Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque.
- Able to wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
- The ability to take call-outs and work overtime.
- Able to set work schedules and priorities and willing to travel and support various facilities.
- This includes locations in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi.
