About the role
L3Harris is seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Manufacturing Planning to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in manufacturing processes and will be responsible for planning and optimizing manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing plans to meet production schedules and goals.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Analyze production processes to identify and implement improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams, ensuring adherence to manufacturing plans.
- Monitor and analyze production data to optimize resource allocation and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant engineer experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineer experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related engineer experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on manufacturing planning.
- Preferred additional skills include Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Manufacturing Engineering (CMfgE). Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple and complex projects simultaneously. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems. Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing planning tools (e.g., ERP systems). Problem-solving and analytical skills. Communication and interpersonal abilities.
