About the role

The Accounts Payable Specialist II – Vendor Support plays a crucial role in managing vendor relationships and ensuring accurate invoicing and payments for QXO, Inc., a leading distributor of roofing, waterproofing, and building materials.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and work with suppliers or internal customers to resolve account issues
  • Process Accounts Payable related to inventory purchases and manage a portfolio of vendor relations
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal customers regarding variances and required resolutions
  • Follow up on required documentation from suppliers and branches, and submit miscellaneous balances for adjustments or write-offs
  • Index critical invoice data elements for workflow processing and identify and escalate repeating patterns and root causes
  • Research and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Accounts Payable function
  • Provide out-of-office support for other AP team members and assist with special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years previous Accounts Payable or Accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to learn new software and systems
  • Intermediate understanding of General Ledger and common Accounts Payable entries
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills with the ability to investigate variances and issues
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail while handling multiple tasks and prioritizing appropriately
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude and growth mindset

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written with a customer service and professional approach
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
  • Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
