About the role

The Associate, Fund Client Accounting II role is located in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves conducting accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds, performing Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities, and interacting with clients regarding fund reports and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Determine net asset values and calculate fund performance.
  • Allocate expenses and prepare reports.
  • Check the work of more junior team members.
  • Perform cash and asset reconciliations related to more intricate accounts or transactions within assigned funds.
  • Ensure account expenses are allocated appropriately and escalate atypical transactions to senior team members.
  • Draft reports for clients regarding the performance of funds and review first draft reports completed by more junior staff.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Contribute to the achievement of team objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with fund accounting systems and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $52,000 and $70,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

Schedule

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
