Specialist Financial Clearance

Full-time day shift position: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. After training, the role will be remote.

About the role

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of financial clearance and insurance verification processes with two years of financial clearance experience in an acute-care setting. Responsible for all pre-service accounts’ financial clearance and collection prior to the date of service.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify accurate insurance information, benefit validation, authorization, and pre-service collections.
• Begin the overall patient experience and initiate the billing process for any services provided by the hospital.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two to five years of experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access.
• National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
• Proficient in the use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree.
• Comprehensive knowledge of scheduling with mastery in three or more modalities and insurance verification processes with three years of scheduling experience in an acute-care setting.
• Experience in complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states.
• Strong knowledge of third-party and government payer billing and reimbursement guidelines, as well as department performance standards and policies and procedures.

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
• Remote after training.
